The Jiayan Water Conservancy Project in Guizhou and the water supply project in the northwest of Guizhou is a comprehensive large-scale water conservancy project with urban and rural water supply and farmland irrigation as its main tasks and power generation. It is the largest water conservancy project in the history of Guizhou Province. The project dam site is located in the middle reaches of the Liuchong River, a first-level tributary of the Wujiang River, in the Qixingguan District of Bijie City and the boundary of Nayong County. The dam height of the reservoir is 154m, the dam length is 429m, the normal water storage level of the reservoir is 1323m, the total storage capacity is 1.323 billion m3, the installed capacity of the power station behind the dam is 90MW, the designed irrigation area is 900,000 mu, and the total water supply population is 2.67 million, which is an I grade (1 ) type engineering.
